Simon Leach, Concert OrganistSIMON LEACH is a prize winning graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and a former organ
scholar of the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. A RNCM travel bursary enabled
Simon to travel to Paris to have some lessons with Naji Hakim and Daniel Roth. He currently combines a
busy performing career with keyboard teaching posts at Withington Girls’ School, The Manchester
Grammar School and St Bede’s College. Simon has performed frequently over the years with the Halle,
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and the Northern Chamber Orchestra. He
has maintained a profile as a solo recitalist recently enjoying playing some of the finest organs in Great
Britain such as Westminster Cathedral and Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities. He made his USA
debut at St Patrick’s Cathedral in March 2011. Simon holds the post of the Organist of the Holy Name
Church,Manchester and recently recorded a CD of the fine William Hill 1871 instrument. He regularly
plays for Radio 4 and regularly appears on ITV’s Coronation Street. Simon is most grateful to Thomas
Trotter and David Ledbetter for their help in the preparation of today’s recital.
